Drawing workshop with Paul Madonna in Cadiz, Spain!
A unique opportunity to explore—and draw—one of Spain's great cities with the brilliant artist.
I wanted to let everyone know that my good friend and longtime artistic collaborator Paul Madonna will be teaching a drawing workshop in the amazing city of Cadiz, Spain this Oct. 26-Nov. 2. I’m happy to have connected Paul and another good friend, Kate Kilbourne, whose Plein Air Holidays offers fun and stimulating painting and drawing workshops in France, Croatia and Spain. Having spent many hours wandering around San Francisco with Paul as we scouted locations for magazine articles and our book Spirits of San Francisco, I can attest that he is a most congenial person to hang out with—and, of course, an enormously talented artist. And having spent time with Kate both in her longtime adopted second home in Troo, France and in Cadiz, I can also attest that she is a terrific host. As for Cadiz, it’s simply one of the great cities not just in Spain but in all of Europe—a tiny marvel surrounded by water on three sides and filled with magnificent buildings, atmospheric streets, gorgeous beaches, terrific food and, not least, lots of flamenco, in the duende-drenched region of its birth, Andalusia. I’d go myself, except that the Spanish government has threatened to bring back the Inquisition just for me if I attempt to draw anything. For more information, click here or on Paul’s new Substack. Buen viaje!
Thanks for the shoutout Gary! And now I am very intrigued to try and make you draw :)
Wow, just wow! I do hope Paul will share some of his Cadiz artwork with us!
